Intensive Automatic Driving Courses in Sidcup & Surrounding Areas

Looking to learn to drive more intensively and make faster progress towards your driving test?

Green Driving Academy offers intensive automatic driving courses for complete beginners, existing learners, drivers who have previously failed their test and anyone with previous driving experience who wants focused tuition.

Unlike a fixed one-size-fits-all course, the number of hours is based on your individual needs and requested course length.

Our intensive automatic driving lessons are available across our normal coverage areas, with particular experience around Sidcup Driving Test Centre.

What Is an Intensive Driving Course?

An intensive driving course involves taking your driving lessons over a shorter and more focused period rather than spreading individual lessons over many months.

The aim is to give you regular opportunities to practise, develop your skills and work towards becoming a safe, test-standard driver.

The amount of tuition you need will vary from learner to learner.

Some people may already have significant driving experience, while complete beginners will generally need more time to develop the fundamental skills required for independent driving.

That's why Green Driving Academy does not use a single fixed number of hours for every learner.

Who Are Intensive Automatic Driving Courses For?

Our intensive courses can be suitable for a wide range of learners.

Complete Beginners

You don't need previous driving experience to take an intensive course.

If you're starting from scratch, your lessons can progressively introduce you to vehicle control, road positioning, observation, junctions, roundabouts, manoeuvres and independent driving.

The amount of tuition required will depend on how quickly you develop the necessary skills.

Existing Learners

Already having driving lessons but want to increase the frequency of your tuition?

An intensive course can provide a more concentrated period of practice, helping you focus on the areas where you need the most improvement.

Learners Who Have Failed Their Driving Test

If you've previously taken your practical test but didn't pass, intensive tuition can help you focus on the areas that caused difficulties.

Your lessons can be adapted around your previous experience and the skills you need to bring up to test standard.

Drivers With Previous Experience

If you've driven before but need to improve your skills or prepare for a practical driving test, an intensive course can be tailored around your existing ability.

How Long Does an Intensive Driving Course Take?

There isn't a fixed length for an intensive driving course.

The time required depends on your:

  1. Previous driving experience
  2. Current driving ability
  3. Confidence
  4. Learning speed
  5. Availability
  6. Areas that need improvement
  7. Requested number of lessons

Rather than promising that every learner can pass within a particular number of days, we work around the individual's requirements and progress.

This means your course can be structured around the amount of tuition you request while keeping your development and driving standard at the centre of your lessons.

How Many Hours Do I Need?

The number of hours is based on your individual request and learning requirements.

If you're unsure how much tuition you need, we can discuss your current experience and goals.

For intensive courses, lessons are limited to a maximum of 1.5 hours per day.

Lesson frequency is also subject to instructor availability.

If you already have substantial driving experience, you may require fewer lessons than a complete beginner.

Do I Need a Provisional Licence?

Yes.

You must have a valid provisional driving licence before starting your driving lessons.

You do not have to have passed your theory test before starting an intensive driving course.

However, you will need to meet the legal requirements for taking your practical driving test before you can take the test.

Can I Use a Block Booking for an Intensive Course?

Yes.

Your intensive course can be paid for using one of our automatic driving lesson block-booking packages.

Block bookings offer discounts based on the number of hours purchased, with discounts increasing for larger packages.

Block bookings are paid in full upfront and remain valid for one year.

Is the Driving Test Included?

No.

The practical driving test is not included as part of the intensive driving course.

Green Driving Academy does not book the practical driving test on your behalf.

You are responsible for arranging your own practical test.

Your instructor can help you work towards the standard required for your test through your driving lessons and preparation.

What If I'm Not Ready for My Driving Test?

An intensive course does not guarantee that every learner will reach test standard within a particular number of lessons.

Learning speeds vary considerably.

Our course planning is based on average learning speeds and your individual requirements, but if you are not yet driving at the required test standard at the end of your planned tuition, your test should be postponed until you are ready.

This is important because the goal is not simply to complete a certain number of lessons.

The goal is to develop the skills, judgement, observation and confidence needed to drive safely and meet the required standard.

Additional lessons can be arranged if you need more tuition before taking your test.

Why Choose an Intensive Automatic Driving Course?

An intensive course may be suitable if you want to:

  1. Concentrate your driving lessons over a shorter period
  2. Build your confidence through regular practice
  3. Prepare for your practical driving test
  4. Focus on specific weaknesses
  5. Continue developing after a previous test failure
  6. Make use of previous driving experience
  7. Learn in an automatic vehicle
  8. Work towards a specific driving goal

Your lessons remain tailored to your individual ability rather than following a rigid course structure.
